By Road
Tenterden is situated on the A28 between Hastings and Ashford and is less than an hour by car from the M25
Coming from London or the North take the M20 and head for Ashford coming off at Junction 9 then head for Tenterden.. this will take you along the Ashford Road through Bethersden and High Halden and towards Tenterden
Then follow directions below after Little Silver Hotel.
For a more scenic and interesting journey come off the M20 at Junction 8 for Maidstone services then follow signs for Leeds Castle (worth a visit). Go through Leeds and straight on to The Plough pub on your right. At that junction turn left and head for Sutton Valence. Keep driving straight all the way through Headcorn and Biddenden until you pass the Woodlands Caravan park and then the Raja of Kent Indian restaurant (worth a visit).
The main junction after the Raja is Ashford Road.
Turn right and head for Tenterden. About 500 metres after the Little Silver Hotel and The London Beach Hotel and Golf Course (on your right), turn right onto Shoreham Lane and follow the road until you reach the junction with Grange Road. You will see a couple of old houses and an Oast house ahead. Turn right and Elnathan is on the right hand side opposite ‘The Roundells’ oast house.
By Train
The nearest mainline railway stations to Tenterden are Headcorn (9 miles) to London Charing Cross (1hr 3minutes), and Ashford International (12 miles) the High Speed line to London St Pancras (38 minutes)
Headcorn: Services for Headcorn depart from London Charing Cross (you may also board trains at London Bridge, and London Waterloo East, a short platform walk from London Waterloo). On your arrival at Headcorn station, bus number 12 will bring you into the centre of Tenterden. There are normally taxis available at Headcorn station.
Ashford: Services for Ashford depart from London St Pancras (HS1, the high speed rail link), 38 minutes journey time. There are also regular services from London Charing Cross and from London Victoria via Maidstone East however these are slower lines. There are taxis available at Ashford station.

NOTE: Tenterden does have a train station however Tenterden Town Station is a historic line serviced with steam trains by the Kent & East Sussex Railway. At the moment the line runs from Tenterden to Bodiam Castle.
